I'm In Charge

I’m In Charge, which began in 1984, is a comprehensive school curriculum specifically designed for elementary-age students, focusing on safety in both emergency and non-emergency situations when children are home alone or on their own away from home. The program fosters open communication between students and their families while teaching practical skills that can be applied immediately. I’m In Charge empowers children to solve problems and equips them with the tools they need to stay safe in a variety of situations.

Originally presented through workbooks, a DVD, and a facilitator’s manual, the program was updated in 2020 to be available entirely online in both English and Spanish. This transition to an online format allows for greater flexibility, making the materials accessible whether students are learning in the classroom or virtually.
