Boost KC (formerly known as Assistance League of Kansas City) operates eight philanthropic programs that serve a wide range of individuals in the greater Kansas City area, from infants to senior citizens. These programs are designed to address unmet needs within the community, offering support to those who are unable to provide for themselves or whose families are unable to meet their basic needs. Each program follows defined guidelines to ensure it is administered effectively, with the goal of alleviating the consequences of poverty and crisis for both children and adults in our community.

For over 30 years, individuals like you have stepped up and helped Boost KC provide clothing to more than 60,000 at-risk students in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Our mission is to restore dignity, well-being, and self-worth through access to fundamental resources, fostering a stronger, more compassionate society for all.

Jason Merrill Memorial Scholarship
As students head back to the classroom, Mya Williams, a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School and this year’s recipient of the Jason Merrill Memorial Scholarship, administered by Boost KC, is preparing for an exciting new chapter at the University of Central Missouri.
Mya’s experiences have taught her independence, gratitude and resilience. In high school, she challenged herself through honors and AP courses and strengthened her confidence and leadership skills as a member of the Speech and Debate Team. Music, though, is Mya’s passion.
Described by those who know her as a natural leader with maturity, integrity and kindness, Mya plans to become a music educator. Inspired by her own band director, she hopes to someday create a positive program that helps students become their best selves.
